A Pair of Arrests Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
